Court calls for scrutiny of posting Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Thursday directed the Director of Technical Education Department to scrutinise teachers' appointments at the Pappanamcode Sri Chithira Tirunal Engineering College. A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice V.K. Bali and Justice J.B. Koshy said the Director should examine whether the appointments were in accordance with the norms prescribed by the All India Technical Education Council and submit a report to the court within two months. The petition filed by Aathyavan Kottarakkara said the appointment of teachers by the Board of Directors of the college, headed by Transport Minister N. Sakthan, had irregularities and corruption. Though the counsel for the college contended that neither the State Government nor the KSRTC had control over its affairs, the court was prima facie not inclined to accept this. — UNI
